Fruit of Her Hands: Day Twelve
She is not afraid of snow for her household,
for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
The virtuous woman does not fear winter or times of scarcity because she is well prepared. Her home is stocked with the necessary items to handle sickness, times of distress and a long winter season. Not only that, but her and all her household is covered in scarlet. Her home is covered in Christ's blood and this gives her confidence to know that she need not fear rain or hail or snow. She can endure whatever may come her way, not because of how good she is, but because all she needs is found in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Today, meditate on the Gospel. Christ gave up His life and surrendered to death on a cross for your sake. He rose from the grave three days later so that we may saved and have eternal life with the Father. Pray that the Spirit would remove all fear from your mind. Ask that He would increase your faith to trust Him in times of uncertainty and equip your hands for work in all seasons of life.
Think of the things you fear for your family and actively take those thoughts captive to God. Clothe them in scarlet. Cling to the sufficiency of Christ. Examine your heart and see if there is something you may be trusting in other than Jesus. Remember, all of your efforts to keep your household healthy whether it be eating organic food, removing toxins, having a well stocked medicine cabinet, avoiding EMF, or (fill in the blank) is good for absolutely nothing if Christ is not Lord. They do not have the power to give eternal life, only He does.
Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.
