Fruit of Her Hands: Day Sixteen

Proverbs 31:25

[25] Strength and dignity are her clothing,

and she laughs at the time to come.

Prayer

What comfort this verse brings! Praise God that He clothes us in strength and dignity which produces in us joy and the ability to laugh at our worries and fears. This joy isn't the "fake it till you make it" kind of joy. It is deep and wide and full and always abounding. One that the world doesn't understand because this joy remains in even the darkest of times.

This verse tells us that the virtuous woman is clothed in strength and dignity which means that others can see it. Today, pray that your love and fear of the Lord would be visibly evident to everyone you encounter. May it be a grace to others to see that you not only say you're a christian, but you actually live like a christian. Ask that the Lord would continue to sanctify you in truth so that you may be a blessing to all who know you.

Application

Simple, not easy: repent of your anxieties. How can a woman laugh at her fears and worries? They don't just magically disappear. She is quick to confess them and lays them all before the Father in repentance. Many of us go about our lives with so many little anxieties that we no longer notice them. You may be constantly worrying that your baby will choke on his food, your husband doesn't find you attractive now that you have a little extra weight postpartum, or that you will offend a friend so you go along to get along. They may live in the back of your mind going unnoticed by you but they still diminish your strength and joy. Ask for the Spirit's help in searching your heart today and repent of these anxieties so that you can laugh at them!
